Pobble is an approach to teaching writing that is used by tens of thousands of teachers each day. We provide teachers with everything they need to teach writing: great resources, real handwritten examples, peer to peer commenting and moderation tools.
We know implementation of school-wide initiatives isn’t always easy. That’s why, when you become a Pobble school, you’ll have the support of our Customer Happiness Team. Our team take customer happiness very seriously. We support our school communities with step-by-step action plans, training days, online training videos and supporting materials and we’re always on hand. We love to communicate with Pobble users and always welcome interactions with our community. With that in mind, we thought we’d give you a little insight into our team: who we are, what makes us tick and most importantly why we love Pobble so much!
Who are you?
I’m Simon Blower one of the Pobble founders. I was a Primary School teacher and Deputy Head for 16 years in North Yorkshire, England
How long have you been with Pobble?
I have been at Pobble since the journey began. I am proud to say my Year 5 class were the first children to be published on our platform. I left my Deputy Head’s role 5 years ago to lead on Operations for Pobble.
What is your role in the team?
Most of my work involves looking after schools who become Pobble schools. We like to call it ‘Customer Happiness’. This involves lots of school visits and also leading training. I also regularly lead presentations about Pobble and provide valuable feedback to the Pobble product team about how we can make Pobble an even better platform for our teachers and pupils.
How does your role help schools?
As a former school leader and teacher I have always been passionate about ensuring that Pobble is easy to implement and use. It’s so important that if schools invest in an EdTech product that they get to see its full value. I therefore work hard to offer support, training and resources that help a school implement Pobble effectively and see a real impact.
Why do you work for Pobble?
I was part of the Pobble founding team because I was regularly working with children who were unmotivated to write, or were producing writing that was not being seen by the audience it deserved. I felt I could do something to help, but as a school leader I could influence change at a school level. By using technology I believed there was a way I could impact on pupils and help teachers across the world to make the teaching of writing easier and motivate and inspire more children to write. I’m proud we have now published over 300,000 pieces of pupils writing from schools across the world and this is only the start!
What is the best part of your role?
I feel so privileged to get to visit so many schools, including visits to 10 different countries. You can read about my visits to international schools here. I get to meet so many wonderful school leaders, teachers and pupils. I learn something during every visit, and reflect on these whenever I propose changes to the way we work with schools.

We’re all passionate about writing but fun is also a major part of life at Pobble. Even though we are not in the same room every day, it’s great to feel the energy when we are. It’s great to regroup and share stories of our Pobble adventures around the world. You can see what we get up to behind the scenes by following Team Pobble on Instagram.
