Back in June 2017, Apple announced that they would be giving podcasters the listening behaviour data gathered from their own Podcasts app available on all iPhone, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs.

Since the Apple Podcasts directory — formerly known as iTunes — is considered to be the largest and most popular in the industry, having access to this data is a boon for podcasters and advertisers alike.

If your podcast is available on the Apple Podcasts directory here’s how to access your data.

  1. Head to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/
  2. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used when you submitted your podcast
  3. Select Podcast Analytics from the dropdown menu in the top-left corner
  4. Dive into your listener data

The analytics give information about specific episodes such as where listeners might skip or drop off listening, as well as listener locations by country and which devices they use so you’ll be able to see how many listeners in Germany love listening from their iPhones while those in South Africa prefer to listen from their Macs, for example.
