What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
Two episodes of [a podcast called] Mamilos: ep. 122 — Microrrevoluções (“Microevolutions”) and ep. 169 — Inteligência Emocional (“Emotional Intelligence”).”

Meet Icaro
Homebase: Brazil
Favorite Podcast: Mamilos
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
Kind of any Mamilos episode, the world should listen. They do an awesome journalism job on it. Every subject has two or more viewpoints.”

Meet Chelsi
Homebase: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States
Favorite Podcast: Truth’s Table, featuring “Black Christian women who love truth and seek it out wherever it leads [them].”
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
Gettin’ Grown! This series gives me LIFE! There is no other series that makes me feel more seen as a young woman of color. Though the content is geared towards black women, the topics they tall about are important for anyone who is dedicated to inclusion and not just diversity.”

Favorite Podcast: Aufwachen!
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
The Contrition Mission, in which two hosts from Caven, Ireland ‘shar[e] filth and the sinful stories of others through anonymous confessions.’”

Meet Curtis
Homebase: Greensboro, North Carolina, United States
Favorite Podcast: The Nod (“and I’m twitching but rule following by picking just one”)
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
The Soundtrack Show episode entitled Doom and Gloom: Music has a word for “Death.” This episode introduced me to a musical quote that I was familiar with by feel but never by name, and now I recognize it everywhere. As a music and language enthusiast, I found this fascinating. The Soundtrack Show was introduced to me by Amma by either direct or indirect recommendation.”

Meet Veronica
Homebase:
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Favorite Podcast: Front Burner
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
This Land. Rebecca Nagel (writer and host/presenter) gives a moving, clear, thoughtful, and personal account of the ongoing fight by the indigenous peoples of Oklahoma for sovereignty over the lands that were promised to them after their ancestral lands were taken from them (post trail of tears). The nature and nuance of the legal battles (to be reargued before the United States Supreme Court next year) is intertwined with the personal stories of murders (both long ago and more recent) in a way that honors the oral histories passed on by first peoples since (at least at the SCC has put it) ‘time immemorial’.”

Katie doesn’t want you to be “in the dark” about her recommended pod. IMAGE CREDIT: Stitcher

Meet Katie
Homebase: Boston (by way of the Midwest), United States
Favorite Podcast: Depends on the mood! I have a handful of favorites in each genre, whether it’s news, pop culture, history, sociology, or true crime. Lately, I’ve really been enjoying Hit Parade and America’s National Parks Podcast, but I always recommend NPR’s Code Switch.
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
In The Dark (from APM Reports) is an incredible investigative podcast that uses it second season to dig into the story of Curtis Flowers, a black man tried for the same crime 6 times in Mississippi, to ultimately illuminate flaws within the criminal justice system. It meticulously undoes the prosecution’s defense, piece by piece, examining dubious methods, unchecked power, and racism. Host Madeleine Baran’s explanation of the approach explains what makes it such a powerful podcast; ‘We didn’t see ourselves as playing the role of detective in the case. We saw ourselves as investigating the investigation.’”

Meet Luke K.
Homebase: New Philadelphia, Ohio, USA
Favorite Podcast: The Ben Shapiro Show
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
Jordan B. Peterson’s podcast, where recently he’s been explaining the details behind his book 12 Rules for Life, is definitely a great listen. The best thing about it is how applicable it is to (as far as I’ve seen) everyone’s life. We can all stand to make *something* better in our lives!”

Meet Skye
Homebase: Norman, OK, USA
Favorite Podcast: Another Round (RIP)
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
“How do I narrow this down?! Nancy by WNYC featured an episode from Radiolab that talked about the X&Y chromosome. It was extremely eye-opening and educational to learn how biological sex is actually determined before genitalia is ever even formed. It helped answer a lot of grey areas in being able to understand and advocate for our trans brothers and sisters in a really scientific way. I try to have a very well-rounded podcast experience. I want to hear from LGBTQ+ hearts, brown and/or Muslim pods, Latinx and Native American pods covering everything from day to day life, religion and experiences to social justice and advocacy.”

Liz is loving ZigZag for its ability to support her entrepreneurial journey. IMAGE CREDIT: Stitcher

Meet Liz
Homebase: Madison, Wisconsin, USA
Favorite Podcast: Oh my gosh this is such a difficult question. There are two podcasts that I listen to almost immediately when an episode hits my feed: ZigZag and How I Built This. A third was a limited edition, The Chernobyl Podcast, but I would slyly listen to that one early on my way to work, even though my husband and I were supposed to be listening to it together.
What Podcast Episode/Series Do You Think the World Should Hear?
Pretty much everyone needs to know about ZigZag from Manoush Zomorodi and Jen Poyant. Now entering its fifth season (already!) after debuting in summer 2018, it has taught me a ton and made me tear up in my car on the regular. Manoush and Jen are chronicling the creation and growth of their new business, Stable Genius Productions, while also tackling important topics relevant to technology, women in business, entrepreneurship, and general modern life. As a female entrepreneur who launched a business just about a year before them, I’m hanging on their every word. I love how transparent and vulnerable they are.”
