How Virtual Podcast Hangouts connect like-minded podcast listeners during social distancing
Introducing a fun thing to do during quarantine for friends and colleagues to keep connected over podcasts
Social distancing doesn’t have to mean boredom, mindless Netflix binges, or the end of meeting new cool people.
In fact, here at Podyssey, we believe it’s the perfect time to connect with others when we’re all feeling more isolated than ever. And what’s better than socializing with some of the most interesting people around — people who love the same podcasts as you?
We’re excited to announce our new initiative Virtual Podcast Hangouts. It’s similar to book clubs, but with podcasts and online.
Podcast Hangouts are a fun social activity to keep in touch with friends and family. It can also be a team-building or professional development to keep remote employees engaged.
❓How do Podcast Hangouts work?
It’s simple. Listeners will receive a podcast series or a curated playlist to listen to on their own time. Then they’ll get together on video chat to discuss what they enjoyed and learned from the podcasts.
Grab a drink and your headphones and get ready to meet new podcast fans!

In the podcast library, you’ll find podcast playlists curated by Podyssey’s community of podcast lovers and our partners CBC Podcast Playlist and the Podcast Brunch Club. There are podcast playlists for everything from true crime, Harry Potter to AI and the gig economy.

To kick things off, Podyssey and our partners are hosting a series of entertainment and educational podcast hangouts that anyone can join, including:
