I’m hurt by the child that is hungry
That mankind has left broken and angry.
I saw her today begging
by the wayside of an Avenue called Manning.
“They” said she was beastly
And stepped aside. They didn’t want her deathly
Presence, parlance, potence, penance.
I’ve seen hungry child without guidance.
I’ve given her dinner
and while she ate saw her err,
“It is bad to be black,”
Because brown is an unwanted lack,
Because white is frail
Mankind created atom bombs: fail.
Mankind failed his own history.
Mankind sent hungry child begging in the city.
