The young child walks along the road
Long since abandoned by society
He looks around him as he goes
The child feels forsaken
Just as that once thriving scene
Hopes and dreams litter the path
A wasteland created from the past
What once was lost
Is screaming to be found
Aspirations and desires left behind
People who gave up
Ran from what they once held dear
They found a new life
One full of cheap thrills
The forlorn child softly whimpers
No sign of the ones who abandoned him there
He will remain alone here
Forever lost in the wasteland
Until one day when they finally remember
And bring love back to the barren road
