And then she told me
“Not again, I’m sorry”
I was hurt and lonely
“I’ll be fine, don’t you worry”

Lied to her, for I knew
She’s too young to care
Can’t burden her, she’s new
Not again, I have a past to share

The future seems bright without her
For she deserves a prince
And I am born a layman
And have been dreaming ever since

There’ll come a day,
She’ll call me to meet again
“How was it then, uncle?
“Will dive deep again in pain

“She said yes”, good for you
She’s pretty and smart and funny
