Strangers

We all begin as strangers.

Each day

People pass by you; talk with you, look at you.

But always all from a distance.

We are bound in our minds

Our very own unique circuit of particular wiring from all kinds

That requires the perfect amount of attention and space

To give each person their individuality, like a delicate lace

We all begin as strangers.

When we meet with someone,

These fibres within out own worlds reach and intertwine with the other

We indulge in their sunset smiles, we swim in their clear set eyes.

We learn their light and we listen to their suffering.

Slowly, they grow within your mind.

We all begin as strangers. As unknowns.

But by etching into the walls of our boundaries,

We are able to scribe out thoughts to the other side

Our eyes search through their fibres and read their personal dictionaries

We know them; out and inside.

We all begin as strangers.

But we grow together.
