Today, we’re announcing that New York Media’s Clay Publishing Platform is getting access to Po.et!

Clay powers New York Media’s sites including New York Magazine, Vulture, The Cut, Grub Street and Slate, plus is being licensed by Golf.com and Radio.com. Development on Clay began in 2015 and is named after New York Magazine’s founder Clay Felker. The platform is ready for mobile-first, publish-anywhere websites that need to support complex monetization strategies.

We love the fact that Clay is powered by open-source software. It’s comprised of Javascript modules available on npm, but the core of the system is based on Kiln, the editing interface, and Amphora, the REST API. Everything is built with adaptability in mind and allows all of the publishers to create premium presences.

Most importantly, Clay is making new technologies easily accessible to an entirely new class of publisher. Getting deeper access to more large-scale publishers will help us expand the core protocol to handle all sorts of new use cases. At the application and API layer, we’re aiming to make the Po.et integration a seamless part of every content creators’ workflow. The best way to build great products is with partners that will put our handiwork to the test.

Publishers on Clay will be able to enable new functionalities from Po.et in early 2019.
