A story of self-discovery and recovery from abuse, pain, low self-esteem, and fear.

Every passing night

She cried pain and blood

She could only imagine it’ll be better

As pain massage through her

She yearns to let go

‘Not today again’ she cried out

They devoured her mouth

Now she has no mouth

Lifting herself up to the sight

You’ll be fine he repeated

As they walked through the dark night

He was there all along.

She couldn’t resist the urge

As she drifted away

Until her eyes shut in sleep

And so was every thought

She loved to let go

She wants to arise

Through the pains each dawn

She knew she was done

She had to stop the shadows

They had to break-up

She felt the emptiness

Those words bore into her

She couldn’t simply be okay

It gradually walked away

as she let it go

She was as a whirlwind.

Oh, what freedom she wanted

No more shadowed

Now at the lime-light of freedom

So, she could really be free.

She finds comfort now

Not from the shadow

But from her confidence

Which had hidden behind the shadow
