Present Portrays Perpetuity

When I was fooling around in England while pursuing a doctorate study, I became obsessed with the glamour of light.

In an ancient church carved by history, the Gothic spire roof was soaring. The seats of the participants formed concentric circles around the center.

In this gathering, most of the time, there was no sound interference and everyone sat quietly.

Inside this building, I glanced at the impermanence rambling casually in the universe with appreciation.

Silence reverberated in the huge space, and time froze in a flash.

Looking up at the beam of light falling from heaven, my eyes touched the dancing skirt of the light swinging.

The sun smiled, and sunlight stepped into the church from the stained-glass windows.

The waterfall of light pouring down from the skylight stumbled upon the fragments of time pervading the tranquil space!

As if there was nothing, in a daze, I seemed to drift away from this world to the boundary of eternity.

The gate of eternity opened slowly and gently.

At this time, some participants were immersed in peace and snored.

I thought that there’s no more perfect, harmonious, and peaceful moment in this world than the present moment.

I said softly to my life, let’s freeze the frame at this moment!

So that the present and eternity could embrace each other and be united to become one.

The end of the gathering was announced when the members shook hands with one other and the noise of children broke through the silence.

What I have learned in the group seeking inner light is:

In this pure and transparent silence, the all-encompassing, colorful and rich feast that you can taste is far better than a thousand words of flamboyance and grandiloquence.

As Lao Tzu said, “Da Yin Xi Sheng, Da Xiang Wu Xing”.

It means that there is a sound in the universe that is puissant, but it is rarely heard by people. The margin of the universe is so far-flung that there is no shape to define it. This is an aesthetic concept described by Lao Tzu in ancient Chinese philosophical theories.

It reveals that sincere literary or artistic work reaches the sphere of Tao and enters the real realm of natural simplicity without any artificial traces.
