We consider the disposability of black masculinity in relationship to different African states.

There are so many ways
to be black and attacked. There are,
so many reasons black masculinity
is a prison.
Let me count the ways in which
the state will rob you:
In Mali you can be slain for
defending the state.
Carry a laptop or work in tech
in Nigeria and you are police bait
— better fetch than a bag of skittles,
but not as absurd as Ugandan wearing a red beret.
