A Change

In body language

Shades of subtle difference
Fine variations of expression
Things are different from how they seem.
An indistinct impression.

A change in body language
Or a surreptitious glance
She was hardly seen and was secretive.
And they are perceived only perchance.

Conceived in close connections
In minuscule degrees
The music is heard in the trees.
When whispered by the breeze.

Living parallel existences
And knowing what we mean
When describing the experiences
Of what we’ve felt and seen.

Listening to the raindrops
Falling soft upon the ground
Stirring deep emotions
Some have yet to be found.

In the early morning
When all is dark outside
A faint light seeps into the room
The nighttime cannot hide.

Pictures of perfection
Shaded in sepia tones
Only seen by eyes
I am attuned to twilight zones.

Outside, the breeze is blowing.
In the trees and seas
The pleasant presence of nature
I reach out and seize.

I suddenly feel your presence.
Though you are far away
A nuanced and sixth sense
I was coming home to stay.
