A stranger once more

A poem

Does everything move in cycles?

Upon first glance, we are all but strangers,

Yet some bonds blossom, their petals

Shimmering iridescent in the moonlight’s gaze,

While others simmer, slowly stewed,

Cooked to perfection, their essence

Brimming with a concentrated intensity.

When I first saw you,

You were an unknown,

Yet you swiftly embedded yourself

Into every hue of my life’s palette.

But just as swiftly, you were reduced,

Boiled down to abstract memories that haunt my dreams,

Becoming a stranger once more,

Lost in the crowd just as you were found.
