A Walk into a Sanctuary

To embrace today

Today the dawn is slipping,
Slowly into light,
Everything looks different,
The feeling is a delight.

The garden is Le Jardin,
An oasis of green,
And the mist, I almost missed,
It drifts past like a dream.

The birds I heard are gathered,
Waiting for their turns,
To dive into the birdbath,
Amongst the dripping ferns.

On the Bay before the day,
The dappled waters dip,
Parted by the rising sun,
A blazing fiery ship.

A zephyr resting on a wave,
Sends shards of sparkling light,
Reflections and injections,
Disappearing out of sight

Today they say, will go away,
Never to return,
Lost in long-gone language,
Only to crash and burn.

Make the best we know the rest,
May come then disappear,
So today, go out and play,
The future may not always be clear

There’s a door, and what is more.
An invitation too
A walk into a sanctuary
For answers, we pursue.

Lost in love and lonely,
Or is it for the day,
Time to make a new start,
As I embrace today.
