Door Chimes

Photo by Paul Mierau on Unsplash

Church bells ringing
People singing
Christmas songs and carols
Doorbells chiming
Lover’s sighing
Roll out the barrels
Poetic verses
In harmony rhyming
I knock on your door
You know the score
And knew I would return
Lie on the floor
And breathe no more
And carefully discern
Is it lover’s sigh?
Or another high
The question asked
The spell now cast
A stranger or a friend
Now at long last
Out of the past
Is it without

In the background, a song intensifies a moment. Imagination fuses sublimely, unchaining emotions. There’s something inciting. Words’ lips kiss inspirations. PoeticEssences spread ’em up. Humor. Love. Life. Music. Flash-Fiction. Micro-Poetry. Free-Verse. © Un P’tit Je Ne Sais Quoi
