It is Easy
To be breezy
It’s easy to be breezy.
yet behind that fair façade
transcending expression
Lies that unplayed card.
Notions like the oceans
and the shifting sands
coloured by emotions
It can slip right through my hands.
Myriads of mental pictures
stored and never told
the secret inner sanctum
Thoughts there kept on hold.
Deep and dire emotions
thought but not expressed
for fear of misunderstanding
The truth still needs to be addressed.
Pictures of perfection
Imperfections never mentioned
Expression checked held in the deck.
Too difficult to be questioned.
Transcending expression
the dark side put on hold
totems of unsolved history
Too complex to be told.
Running ahead of heartaches
trying hard not to think
keeping a cap on discontent
And the missing link.
Dealing with the darker side
the rinds of recollection
written on the inside
Armour coated for protection.
Words like birds after the night
Rise and fly across the Bay.
Spread their wings and take flight.
Into a brand-new day.
In and out of logic
the places in my mind
Surface then resurface
The truth is hard to find.
