I took a swim

On a whim, I took a swim.
Early in the morning, near the dawn
The tide was high, and she waved that sigh.
Whilst others stretched and yawned.

As minutes pass, there’s constant change.
from the ocean’s shores to the grand mountain range
In the mystery of Nature, some live, and some die.
And rarely perceive the call for change.

To be in touch with Nature and perceive its beauty.
Relieves my addled mind of all thoughts or fear
It electrifies the senses as the cycles keep changing.
Of Nature’s brilliant display so very near.

To be alone on the beach at the start of the day.
And to drink in the luxury of serene Jervis Bay.
To hear the lap of the water as it washes the shore.
It brings a feeling of contentment that’s hard to delay

As the shards of the sun fringe the clouds in the sky
A blush colours the horizon as the gull’s wheel and cry
Then the crimson red ball climbs, sending fiery light.
To light up the vast sky

The sea sparkles like diamonds as the sun casts its rays.
Merging the sea with the sky in a translucent play
The Sea- Eagle soars high, searching out likely prey.
Of silver fish swimming in shoals beneath the Bay.

A breeze whispers in the air, swaying leaves in the trees.
Crinkling the luminous surface with delight
Shadows disappear and are replaced by white light.
Golden sands on the shore change to dazzling white.

As the day moves through cycles, it mirrors the Seasons.
And our cycle of life is exposed for obvious reasons.
Like the days and the seasons and all living things
We are transient beings and revere what life brings.

The natural beauty of the Bay is a great gift that’s given.
And no matter how you feel or where you are driven.
Take a minute each day to drink in this beauteous treasure.
And enjoy the cycles of life that can bring you great pleasure.
