That matter

Minced in monosyllabic moments
A repertoire or performance
It rarely related to both ways
A communication in conformance.

Sometimes misunderstood
With poor enunciation
And a lack of listening
can ruin communication.

There’s nothing like the joy
Of a two-way communiqué
Listening then responding
With words, we want to say.

It’s almost a lost art
As we become more isolated
An SMS, email or Facebook
It leaves me more and more frustrated.

Let’s sit down and talk it out
Without music or a chattering TV
Electronics are the masks
Often isolate you and me.

Talk out in the open
And enjoy real conversation
Without words, we need to hear
we’re in for isolation

Why not try a talkathon
To talk out points of interest
cut the rift and uplift
And sift into a communicative experience.

Let’s lay it on the table
And talk and joke and natter
And transform our budding friendship
With words that matter.
