Love Was Just a Game Back Then

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. The hands of time brought you back into the shadow of this quiet night. Your gentle voice upon my ears was once such a sweet, innocent delight.

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. The enchanting river of light flowing in your emerald eyes shining so bright. I’m transcending across my memories, my heart taking a quiet flight.

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. With the heart of a young, foolish girl, I sent you from my sight. I did not realize what an undying love I had thrown away in spite.

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. I tossed your love aside and laughed at your plight. I thought love was just a game; I was far from contrite.

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. I have nothing but time and memories like broken pieces of clay left unright. Time is slipping away day by day, and year by year, yearning for a lovely wish to make it right.

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. You were the one that made me laugh and made things all feel so pleasantly bright. The days are long, and my hair is turning a snowy soft gentle white since you left my sight.

I thought about you again in the silence of the starry, heavenly blue twilight. The years have only left me behind to make things right. In a prayerful girlish plea, my words drift upon the dreams of sweet candy cotton clouds, asking forgiveness for tossing your love away without requite.
