The Journey of Poetry
I sit with my thoughts slumbering inside
I breathe as if I have nothing else to do for a moment
watching a lazy cloud soaring high like a big silvery bird in the morning sky
on a rolling hilltop or at the far end of an emerald valley
I do not stir or dare step from side to side
only watching and waiting for she will come sneaking by
I take a deep breath as I dance through time
she has arrived and sits gingerly beside me
My journey into the thought has begun like a spring butterfly taking flight
I hold her with a gentle hand and listen
Her story has a soul that must be told
I scribe her words in haste upon my open heart,
For I must not wait because I know she may never come this way again.
May you always find the positive side of life’s bumpy road.
