I try to make sense of it, but I can’t:

What my body does

The current that collects
Under my skin
The sharpest lengths of heat
Sent through blood and bone
Until everything swelters
Blurring and dizzy
Red as summer

The drop in my gut
That catches
Between
Breaking, bliss, and panic
The slackness in muscle
The pulse between my hips
Flesh wet with
Sweat and holy water

I need better air
Stronger ways to draw out the ache
Something to set between my teeth

At the thought of what
Giving in to you
Would do to me.
