The starlight
From this window feels
As if ancient combustions draw
Peculiar lines that wish to bind
My heart to theirs…

…and so I wonder quietly
How far away their glow explodes
In inches —
Seconds —
Heartbeats?
A distance so unthinkable…

…yet as I close this futile door
I sense
That not in cosmic lanterns,
But in this world shaped by desire
Too many zeroes often slumber…
