Merciful God, unhinge my heart.
Remove the rusty nails that keep
this door from opening.

Lead me to Light, that Grace
might penetrate the darkened
corners of consciousness.
Undress my eyes.

Open my heart, for I am quick
to judge, slow to forgive.
Speak to my soul. Show me the
silent window where I might
find her.

Dear God, soften the sharpness
of my tongue and pacify what
angers me. Instill me with
compassion. Gentle me, so that
I might be a conduit for Peace.
