Weathers: A Poem by Thomas Hardy

An apparently simple poem about the seasons that may be saying much more than first appears

“Weathers” was first published in Good Housekeeping magazine in May 1922 and collected in Hardy’s Late Lyrics and Earlier, which also appeared in 1922. Thomas Hardy was born in 1840 and died in 1928, so this is a poem of his old age, written when he was 82.
