i will walk
on the waters
when the storm ceases
and the waves are calm
and i see the Lord.

but if i walk
on the waters
on my terms and my conditions
will i walk by faith
or by sight

It was inspired by Peter walking on water Matthew 14:28. I realised that in the past, Jesus had set precedence that he could calm the storm and waves. And yet in this instance he doesn’t. Instead, he calls Peter out onto the waves, in the midst of the storm.

To me, there’s a realisation that instead of always asking God to calm the storms, so I can walk in peace, maybe I should ask for more faith, so I can walk on the water in the midst of a storm.
