Neptune & the Song of the Sailor

The sea was sleeping, and I slept, too
on seashells and crystal sand
in the golden afternoon.

When Neptune awoke, he swam out of the sea
and closer to me, he moved,

‘Young sailor,’ he said, as he looked at me
‘I was told by the Gods,
that you must learn to see
