I look at the raindrops falling in motion
Through my tainted glass window.

It has been more than a week,
And the weather shows no sign of change.
Gray clouds hang low and heavy,
Veiling the sun in a persistent shroud.
Maybe it will last through this month
And into the month of July.
The Earth will stay damp,
An inherent reminder of ebb and flow,
Of distant oceans and rivers
And small streams of life.
It circulates throughout the world,
Like blood in the veins of our human body,
Canopying this vast landscape and miles of unending blue,
Steep valleys, and an empty sky.

This rain sings a cradle song,
Whispering secrets of places obscure,
Of mountains cloaked in mist
And forests where wild things roam free.

I watch the droplets merge and scatter,
Tracing patterns on the glass,
It’s a mosaic of some sort.
Each with a story, a memory, and a life..
