You wonder how, You’d ask me now

You wonder how
You’d ask me now
If given chance my dear

Why I’d decided not to hear
Or feel or see you even
So let me tell you then

Brief is the story about that time
Plain and simple, not sublime
When I had decided definitely
(And I had done so, firmly)
Not to hear
Not to see
Not to feel — nor expect to feel
Everyone or anyone but, well, me

And that’s all, indeed
Decided.
Abandoned.
Fled.
Deceased.
So it had happened

That is when it came to be
I had utterly made myself free
That is when I became ME
(lana)

Finally
I stood alone/free and bare
Finally
I shed it, left it, without a care
My fearful skin without a spare
So now I’m — brave!

A snake! -You’d say?
I shake.

But hey
I’m Eve(n),
Vixen
(Or so they say)
