NOTE: Remember to include ‘Poetry Playground’ as one of your tags.

It is time for another Poetry Playground Prompt! After last week’s prompt which saw what felt like hundreds of brilliant responses, this week we have a theme.

My husband and I have just had an offer accepted for a house we love. In the UK, that is one step of many in the moving process, and it is still almost as unlikely to happen as it is likely. Nevertheless, it is an exciting time in our lives as we find a new home for the next stage of our lives together.

For this week’s prompt think about a significant change in your life. It might be a positive change such as marriage, a new child, a new job or a new home. It might be something less positive, such as the loss of a loved one, losing a job or a family breakdown.

As you think about that time of change in your life, notice what feelings it stirs in you, and write a poem that shows those feelings to the reader. It is a vulnerable moment, but it will lead you to write incredible poetry.

Write a poem about a time of significant change in your life.
