It is time for another Poetry Playground Prompt!

Last week’s prompt was well-received and some deeply personal and thoughtful poems were written. Thank you for the kind words shared in the comments. A few poems from this week are selected for your enjoyment later.

This Week’s Prompt

Do you remember when you used to think all poetry should rhyme?

It made it a lot of fun and potentially silly!

This week, I invite you to write a rhyming couplet poem, with four verses, in the following pattern:

A
A
B
B

C
C
D
D

E
E
F
F

G
G
H
H

Try to keep a rhythm to it — read it out loud and see how it sounds.

If you want a theme to help get you started, you can use the theme of education.
