Tea the way you like it

A poem

--

a cup of tea
Credits: Poet

Tea the way you like it,

With the milk, boiled to a caramel colour,

Bit darker than the colour of my skin,

Bit sugary like your eyes on me.

Tea the way you like it, it reminds me:

And when you take that sip,

The pale of your lips touching the tea,

The moist trace it leaves behind,

Somewhere inside me your eyes,

Leave a familiar moist and unfamiliar warmth.
