The Ocean In All Its Beauty
So vast, deep, and full of stories
she whispered
right into my heart
that beautiful ocean — so vast and blue
she danced
with the dolphins
making them feel joyful and alive
she rose up
lifting the surfer high up
creating such lyrical movement
she glanced
at me, yes me
waving her frothy white arms at me
she roared
that one day
so unexpectedly
it doesn’t matter
what she does
she is always beautiful, wise, and vast
and, I am always in awe as I stare directly into her heart.
I have always been in love with water, in all shapes and sizes, but when I lived in Southern California, I became awe-struck with the Pacific Ocean. I would spend hours just staring at the vastness, knowing that God created this ocean so deep and wide.
