White magnolia in its prime.
Hope found on a recent walk. (Photo by Author)

I found Hope today
in a magnolia
kissed in shade
and sun, its
petals open
like birds
of flight

Hope arrived
in a child’s
belly laugh,
eyes lit
like lanterns
within

Hope was the
text after
a storm,
words
settling into
my soul through
the screen

I saw Hope
at an intersection,
streetlights out,
hearts open,
calm
in the midst
of chaos

Hope is in
the open
door when
yours is broken,
an invitation
to stay
when you’ve no
where else
to go
