Where Footprints Should Fear To Tread
Before dawn, I take my walk along the shoreline… but who?
At dawn I start the day’s first walk
Footprints lead ahead of me
Who dares to stride upon my shore
Before I’ve drank my tea
I went at noon the next day
I didn’t start out all alone
The dogs came chasing after me
By evening we were home
That evening beside my footprints
Matching stride for stride
Heading all the way to sunset
Were walking at my side
Midnight beneath the moon
It shining down so bright
I set out with my dogs
Toward Arena’s lighthouse light
No more the stranger’s footprints
The lighthouse sent a warning
Don’t tread upon my shore
Before the sun’s up in the morning
