Cues
–A poem

The corner of your lips
lifts
and sends me flying
to the sky.
Then,
like a feather,
I alight on
the hammock of your smile.
But if you frown,
your eyebrow
tumbles me into hell,
burning until
your breath
blows the flames away.
Your poised attention,
slow gestures,
the smooth bend of your hips,
or the fold of your elbow
command unreasonable effects
on my life.
