Your Spirit’s Winter

In the frosty time of year, we cocoon in our skin

Pores tightening in the chilly ether that blankets and folds about everything

We blush with a cool streak

The things around us do the same, lower their temperature with the season’s touch

The doorknob, the railing, the fur coat on that pup

The ground and the tree, the clothes on our backs

All play along in this cold symphony

Open wide your eyes, feel the coolness rush in to envelop the curves of those orbs

Feel the synchrony and harmony of the world in the simple lesson a shift on Earth’s axis holds

Life about us is now in a different swing

We conserve, we draw in, yet there awakens another way of being

The trees slow down, introspect

Readying themselves for action when the right day comes for them

Others will take in that brisk feeling, burst forth and play.

Inhale the chilled vapor, let it curl down your throat and stake claim in your lungs,

So your winter spirit awakens and rises up

Inside we have a landscape that cycles and renews

This is a time deep layers silently churn and make way for the new

It moves in resonation with the world and the objects within

Walk in the wind, upon the harsher ground

Still your soul, listen

How does your winter spirit want to be in this frosty season’s scene?

Now is the time for the cold to shine through you
