A Pirate’s Tale of Woe

Tucked in your bed, when your mind runs wild -

Do you think of the lovers, lost long ago?

Or the future prospects, that lay right ahead?

Do you worry how the world would be when you die?

Who would wail the loss of your love, your presence?

Or do you blankly stare at wall with nothing in your head?

These rumblings of the intellect –

will eat you alive!

Let me tell you a story of an old savage crime!

My hands have the blood,

of a nymph dead in the sea,

I hear her voice —

yelling my name in misery,

She wails and curses every last one of us.

It is her tears that brought all our woes!

It is her cries that sealed all our sorrows!

When you lie tonight think of her tragic fate,

and pray for all who bear the curse of this tale.
