Rainbow Salad

August Sunshine

A Poem — and a prompt

Photo by Celina Albertz on Unsplash

My birthday brings memories
Of childhood…parents
Silence and cruelty reverb

Yet August dawns brightly
Brings with it the sun
A mind that feels freer
Heart lighter and louder
