A man looking up into the night sky at the stars

I thank the Earth for its beauty,
I thank the sky for its warmth,
I thank the sea for its peace,
I thank the wind for its presence,
I thank the body for its life,
I thank the beginning for its invitation,
I thank the end for its ghost,
Yes I even thank the end,
What would the beginning be,
Without the delicate incense,
of the end.

I write this poem with a prompt from the book ‘The magic words’ by Joseph Fasano. Something to kick start my poetry again as I haven’t wrote anything for a while because of doubting myself.
