Heartbreak: A Poem about Depression

There are many people who struggle with depression, including myself. Depression can eat us alive and affect our daily lives in severe ways. I strongly advise to seek help you think you may be struggling with depression. Below, I have written a poem that explains traits of a girl battling depression.

They did not know why she ached
Tears rained upon her pillow with silent heartbreak
Stuck in a stance that kept her down
Barely leaving the house to roam through town
She felt a heaviness upon her chest
Despite her best efforts, she wasn’t at her best
Many days spent alone
Not knowing when she’ll break her zone
