A smile that hides a million tears, with a voice told not to speak.
Rage and anger lived in silence, buried way down deep.
Shh, don’t cry. Go to your room for that.
Hide the pain behind a door. That’s not something they want to look at.
Be good girls and boys, learn to comply and stay in your place.
Don’t make waves or speak too loudly, you’ll get egg on your face.
We learn to cope; we learn to adapt.
Decades later we learn it was all crap.
The pain still lingers, and the scars shine through
as our trauma bubbles over and our triggers we spew.
Our feelings are hurt, we point fingers and blame another
instead of looking inside to see what there is to uncover.
Healing is messy; the dark night of the soul is real.
Be willing to go into the pit of emptiness, it is where you will learn to feel.
Love is there, you must seek and find it.
See that pain? The warrior you once were is there behind it.
Find peace they say. Make love not war.
But war rages inside you, right behind the door.
You yearn for that peace; it is so inviting.
Why do others have it? Why is yours hiding?
You are a Warrior.
You were built to fight.
Not everyone has the same job.
Not everyone has the same plight.
Peace and war are two sides of the same coin.
Change how you fight, and you will find others who want to join.

You were sent here for a reason because this world needs to be rattled.
You will fight for LOVE and teach others to do the same.
You will break down the barriers and shine light on the shame.
