‘Reaper’ Chapter 6 Part 2: Morta
Rae held out their arm allowing Lina to walk ahead of them. Lina walked to the office door and paused. Rae looked at her, the door, then back at her again.
“Are you going to go in?”
“Yeah, I’m ready. Do the magic thing.”
“What?”
Lina made a circular shape with her index finger while speaking, “You know, the magic door thing.”
While remaining fixed on Lina, Rae reached down, turn the knob, and cracked the door a few inches open.
“Like that?”
Lina’s mouth hung open for a moment as she stared at the open door, “Why didn’t you tell me it was a regular goddamn door?”
Rae began laughing, “It’s an office! There’s an orange iMac from 1998 right there. There’s very little magic happening here.”
“Do you think she heard any of that?”
An amused smile had spread across Rae’s face, “Oh yeah. She’s right there. She heard all of it.”
