The Magic of Poetry

A Poem

Poetry is like the moon
on steroids,
a crimson sunset,
charcoal
tangled clouds.

Words can be dangerous
if left unattended,
fed to the lions
or fueled by a crowd.

A sonnet, enchanted,
or haiku allowed
can be lost in the margins
or wrapped in a shroud.

The night is like darkness,
the muse well endowed,
with words left unraveled,
polished
and ploughed.
