The South
A poem about the south.
The south is a magical place
You ‘ought to learn what we’re about
There isn’t a thing you will go without
The south is slower, yes, it’s true
We’re known to be friendly
We have great reviews
Known for our hospitality and charm
And growing the best produce on a farm
We’ll say hello to strangers standing in lines
We know how to talk and have a good time
We like our friend foods and sweet tea
The south is truly the place to be
Gorgeous sunsets towards the end of each day
A prize for all people after a day of work and play
We use our manners addressing people as ma’am and sir
Northerners don’t always like this
We are taught this out of respect, I assure
We enjoy simple pleasures and make the most out of our lives
Appreciating the little moments
We are thankful as each day passes by
We believe in God and go to church
Trusting in faith over scientific research
If you enjoy warmth and friendliness,
The south is for you
We thrive on connection
You’ll never feel blue
