There Is a Parasite Among Us

Parasite,
flies,
lies,
deceitful cries.

In the corner
of my eye,
I see her fangs.
Glistening yellowed
teeth, bearing holes
on her tongue.

Parasite,
mushrooms,
early june,
nightly moon.

She lurks
in the corner rooms.
waiting hungrily
for scraps of pig fat.
At night, I hear the howls
and the dogs bark in response.

Parasite,
leeches,
worms,
delicious germs.

I pretend
I do not know.
I lead her to a trap.
She thinks
she is a parasite.

In this barren house,
we are all monsters.
