1.

I remember you
in the paths we should have trod;
where words form
like crystals
in the cooling air.

2.

Surely here
you could have found
a hero’s mantle,
sourced the words I needed
in autumn breezes
and the calm of evening?

3.
Ah, love,
what use is silence?

4.
Alas, no peace of green
was there for us,
only voices of metal,
the screeching void
of chaos.

5.
Now, your ghost returns
and we meander
together in the kindness
of fox paths,
the glorious avenue
in a young wood.
I remember you.
