Cold

I lie
shivering
in the moonlight
Won’t you come
and hug me?

I dream
about you
you know?
But you never
hug me
in my dreams.
And that
always leaves
a gash
in my
heart.

You say
you miss me
but I
don’t think
you do.

Why are you
so
cold?

I’m frozen
from the inside
out
even though
my heart
is
burning
desperately
for
you.

Now I lie
shivering
under the covers.

Tears slide
from my eyes
and drip
onto the pillow.

I curl up into a ball.

I’m so

cold.

Please.

Hug me.
