You were the lightning bolt
who electrified me to life
colossal thunderclap
shaking the foundation of my existence
the storm that settled me
laid my fears to rest
and awakened my Wanderer
I want to write our story
but I’ll never find the right words
I want to sketch the intricacy
of how our souls intertwined
put this pain on to paper
chisel the sharp edges of these tears
darken this hole in my heart
never to see a glimpse
of what’s at the bottom of this gaping pit
the you-shaped emptiness
that fills my core
I’m heartbroken and damaged
fumbling through it’s wreckage
arms outstretched and aching
longing to feel
even a phantom touch
