Poetry Under Cover: One-Line Prompt — Whisper
Welcome to Poetry Under Cover’s next one-line poetry prompt.
The theme for this prompt is: whisper
What does whisper mean to you? Tell us— and wrap it in a one-line poem.
You do not have to literally incorporate the word whisper — you can use it if you want to, but you can also just use the idea of a whisper to spark your imagination.
A one-line poem is exactly what it sounds like: one line. Think of it as a sentence, one that can be as brief or long as you want it to be as long as it makes sense as a sentence. And it needn’t appear on just one line — it can exist across several lines as you see fit, for example:
.
soft as a whisper that starts a fire
.
whisper in my ear,
breathe into my hair,
let your hands say the things
you have no words for
.
Remember, PUC submissions are always about love, sex or passion in the context of a romantic relationship.
WHEN?
This prompt opens immediately and runs until the next one-line prompt is posted.
